As the countdown to Christmas begins and portrait season is full swing, I thought I'd share one of last year's portrait commissions that deserves a feature on the blog.
Literally, squeaking in just under the wire, this portrait of a light skinned, Hairless Chinese crested was my last Christmas portrait commission of 2016.
A breed not as commonly seen in this area, this delightful little dog with varying hair lengths all over its body, was tremendous fun to recreate on canvas. Named Squeaky, this sweetheart boasts a mane and tail of long, silky locks as well as somewhat sporadic pale body hairs. Light and dark skinned in places, creating Squeaky's layered mane was a fun challenge.
A great keepsake of a sweet dog, Squeaky's owner can enjoy this painting for years to come.
