Without a doubt, the close connection we feel with our animals can be a love so strong it can only be likened to the bonds we share with our human friends and family. In reality, our animals can be as much a part of our family as our own human members. Unfortunately, our animals generally also occupy the shortest life expectancy of all our family members. With an average lifespan of 10-13 years for dogs, saying goodbye always seems much too soon.
I was commissioned by Patricia from Toronto, Ontario to paint members of her family that unfortunately passed away – gorgeous Raven, a Black Labrador Retriever and the equally beautiful Elle, also a Black Labrador Retriever.
This stunning pair were deeply loved and are sorely missed. A portrait depicting the two friends together was the perfect way to immortalize the duo that will forever be in Patricia's heart.
