Losing a beloved animal is never easy, especially when they’ve become part of your family.
Earlier this month I was commissioned by Linda to paint a portrait of her special little pony, affectionately named Noodles. In typical pony fashion, Noodles had a personality all his own and “oodles” of character. Loved and treasured, the little white pony brought his human family lots of joy and laughter.
Discovered at a feedlot, Linda couldn’t fathom how anyone could discard such a precious pony and knew she had to rescue him. It was in that moment she silently promised him that he would live out the remainder of his days in the safety of her home, sheltered, fed and loved by her and her family. And he did just that.
Although Noodles has journeyed across the rainbow bridge, he will always be present in the hearts of the family he touched. Cared for until the end by her daughter Caroline, who was present in his final moments, Noodles undeniably felt her affection and loved her and the rest of his family right back.
