We have been blessed with a warm and wonderful fall so far this year. Frequently armed with a hot cup of coffee, open windows and streaming sunlight, I have gratefully delved into this season's portrait commissions.
Among the many diverse faces I have lined up this fall, one of the cutest pumpkins to grace my easel so far has been Lola, an English Bulldog. Who wouldn't love starring into those deep brown eyes while painting fold after fold of face wrinkles on one very happy butterball?
Commissioned by Jenn and Beth, this portrait of Lola was intended as surprise gift for one of their close friends, Lola's owner. Although Lola has sadly recently passed away, her portrait will serve as a great reminder of happier times that Lola's family can treasure for years to come.
