Well I finally did it folks! After years (literally) of being asked when I was going to paint my own horse, I've finally had the chance to paint his portrait. A project dear to my heart, I greatly enjoyed painting my handsome Dutch Warmblood and I'm extremely pleased with the result.
For Burberry's portrait, I decided on a classic side profile pose. Since he is a hunter show horse, I've chosen to have him wearing a wide noseband bridle with classic D-ring bit and braided as he would be on show day. I think Burberry himself would even approve of his likeness.
Keep an eye out for more Burberry portraits in the future. After all, it is kind of nice to be able to keep one of my own portraits.
