Another of 2016's Christmas commissions, I had the pleasure of painting G-Korette, also known as Gerti, for Natalie.
Affectionately named the "Little Red-Haired Girl" because of her chestnut locks and small size, she also just happens to be the recent love of my horse's life. And who could blame him? A cuddle-bug with a wonderful personality, this gorgeous mare is also a star over fences. Talented, fearless, sweet as can be, this young mare will be one to watch in the jumper ring this winter.
I enjoyed painting all the details that went into this piece, from the halter's shiny hardware to Gerti's delicate ears and velvety nose. With a trio of Natalie's most recent ponies complete, there's only one thing left to do – add another pony member to the family! Wink, wink Natalie.
